Design and Construction

The construction of an instrument is a complex process with the final result being the creation of a particular sound.

It begins with the choice of a model, inspired by a search for tone.

I draw inspiration from the great Italian Masters for my instruments, whose creations are references for both their beauty and their sound, and use today’s techniques and scientific tools for the design and acoustic choices.

The wood used is of the utmost importance for me. I choose spruce from the Dolomites and maple from Bosnia with the greatest care, taking into account very precise technical, acoustic and aesthetic criteria.

I also create my own varnish, drawing inspiration from old recipes of the Renaissance period and using only natural products: linseed oil, pine resin and madder from my own country, France.

In order to share and broaden my knowledge I regularly attend courses, conferences and discussion workshops in France and abroad, including the USA.
